08.22.08 - THE DOORS ORDERED TO PAY $5 MILLION FOR USING BAND NAME
Doors drummer John Densmore, Jim Morrison's parents and his widow were awarded $5 million from Ray Manzarek and Robby Kreiger for using the band name "Doors" a federal court has ruled. The lawsuit started in 2003, when Densmore sued his band mates after they "improperly invoked The Doors' name and images" when Kreiger and Manzarek toured as "The Doors of the 21st Century."
